Nepal is home to the world's most northerly coffee plantation. The Plantec Coffee Estate Plantation, founded in 1990, is only 100 hectares in size and is located in the Nuwakot district (Google Earth "Nuwakot"), 80 km north-west of Kathmandu, at the foothills of the Ganesh Himal mountain range with the 7422 m high Yangra (Ganesh 1). Here, less than 100 km from Mount Everest, in a frost-free mountain valley at about 700 m altitude on the banks of the river Trisuli, grows the coffee, which was originally cultivated from seeds from Papua New Guinea. The sustainably organically grown coffee of the variety Arabica Bourbon Caturra is irrigated with crystal clear Himalayan meltwater from the Trisuli, washed and wet-processed. After natural sun-drying, the coffee beans are handpicked.
Vee's Organic Everest Supreme "Plus" has a medium, very elegant body, with pronounced spicy and complex aromas of nuts, dark berries and tropical woods.
